Race guide

All the most important info regarding 18th Warsaw Half Marathon & 11th New Balance High Five Race gathered together.


REGISTRATION

You can sign up for the race here>>>

  • Registration for the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon are open until 23.03.2024
  • Registration for the 11th New Balance High Five Race are open until 23.03.2024
  • The participant limit for the New Balance High Five Race is 5,000 people.
  • Registration for the run will also be possible in person at the Race Office.

NOTE! The total pool of bib numbers for those registering after March 21, 2024, and those available at the Race Office is 200.


DATE AND LOCATION OF THE RACE

  • The 18th Warsaw Half Marathon will take place on March 24, 2024, in Warsaw.
  • The start of the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon will take place at 11:00. The starting line will be closed approximately 20 minutes after the starting signal.
  • Distance: 21.0975 km. The route is certified by PZLA and World Athletics.
  • 11th New Balance High Five Race will take place on March 24, 2024, in Warsaw.
  • The run will start at 09:30. The starting line will be closed approximately 5 minutes after the starting signal.
  • Distance: 5 km. The route is certified by PZLA and World Athletics.

REGISTRATION FEES

Each participant of the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon bears the cost of the entry fee. The exception is the participants of the #BiegamDobrze charity program, who are subject to the procedure described in a separate REGULATIONS. The starting fee consists of the starting package (point IV. 3. of the Regulations), as well as service for the competitor before, during and after the competition, rental and/or purchase of infrastructure necessary to organize the run, as well as maintenance of the online competition registration website and the competition website.

The basic rates during limited registration (for finishers of the 17th Nationale-Nederlande Warsaw Half Marathon) are as follows:

RACE BIB DELIVERY


  • The deadline for ordering and paying for the race package delivery option is until March 4, 2024.
  • The fee for Race Package Delivery is PLN 35 (gross) per participant. Race packages are sent individually, and it is not possible to send more than one race package in a single shipment.
  • The condition for race package delivery is having the race bib number (assigned after the registration fee is received) no later than March 4, 2024, and sending a clear scan or photo of the signed Start Card to the email address wysylka@maratonwarszawski.com by March 7, 2024, at the latest.
  •  Deliveries will be made approximately two weeks before the race.
  • In the event of non-delivery within the specified timeframe, the race package can be collected at the Race Office under standard procedures.

RACE BIB PICKUP

The race package for both races (both distances) can be picked up at the Race Office located in the Palace of Culture and Science (Plac Defilad 1 street, entrance from Marszałkowska street).

Race Office opening hours:
March 22, 2024 (Friday) – 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM
March 23, 2024 (Saturday) – 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM

NOTE! On the day of the race, the Race Office will be closed.


HOW TO GET TO THE RACE OFFICE

As usual – we recommend using public transportation! The Race Office is located in the Palace of Culture and Science – you can get there by metro – either from Centrum station (M1) or Świętokrzyska station (M1 and M2).

Runner! Use public transportation and plan your arrival for picking up your race package well! Don’t leave your visit to the Race Office until the last minute!


RACE PACKAGE

At the Race Office, participants will receive race packages containing, among other things: a race bib with a chip for time measurement, safety pins, a deposit bag, and, if the appropriate race package option is chosen, a commemorative T-shirt.

We will provide detailed information about the exact contents of the package closer to the race date.


EXPO SPORT&FITNESS

We invite you to visit the Expo Sport&Fitness. Right next to the Race Office in the Palace of Culture and Science, you will find booths with a rich offer from sports equipment manufacturers, running gadgets, and nutritional supplements. It’s also a great opportunity to talk to experts or make some last-minute pre-race purchases.

The Expo will be open during the Race Office’s working hours.


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

The right to participate in the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon is exclusive to individuals who will turn 18 no later than March 24, 2024 (born before March 25, 2006).

The right to participate in the New Balance High Five Race is granted to individuals who will turn 15 no later than March 24, 2024 (born before March 24, 2009). There is a possibility for individuals who will turn 13 no later than March 24, 2024 (born before September 24, 2011) to participate with a medical certificate allowing their participation in the run.

START FOR INDIVIDUALS IN WHEELCHAIRS WITH DIRECT DRIVE

The organizer allows athletes in wheelchairs with direct drive to participate in both races. After completing the registration form expressing the intention to participate in a wheelchair, these athletes should send a scan of a document confirming their disability to info@maratonwarszawski.com. This is a condition for a 50% discount on the registration fee (package without a T-shirt).

The organizer does not allow the participation of wheelchair athletes with indirect drive (e.g., hand-bike) or rim-push type.


ATTENTION – RUNNERS!

Do not assist individuals in wheelchairs encountered on the race route! Pushing the wheelchair poses a danger to the person using it. Unexpected assistance is not needed on the race route. If a wheelchair participant needs help overcoming obstacles, they will explicitly request support. Without such a clear signal, interfering with the wheelchair user’s route is prohibited.

REFRESHMENT STATIONS

Refreshment stations for the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon will be approximately every 4 kilometers starting from the 5-kilometer mark. There will be 4 refreshment stations along the route.

NOTE! After each refreshment station, on the same side of the route, “drop zones” will be set up where you can discard your cup. Please dispose of trash in the designated area. This will help maintain order and avoid throwing cups under the feet of runners behind you, as well as keep the roadside clean.

There are no refreshment stations on the route of the New Balance High Five Race.


TOILETS ALONG THE ROUTE

Near each refreshment station on the Half Marathon route, portable toilets will be available.


DEPOSIT AREA

In the race package, each runner (participant in the Half Marathon and High Five Race) receives a bag for depositing items before the race. To deposit items, you must attach the sticker with your race number to the bag, which you will find in your package. To retrieve your deposit after the finish line, you will need your race number.

In the event of a participant losing their race number, the organizer is not responsible for someone else retrieving the bag. Note! Leaving valuable items and documents in the deposit is prohibited. The organizer is not responsible for valuable items left in the deposit.

 


CHANGING ROOMS

Before and after the race, participants will have the opportunity to use changing rooms.

TIME LIMITS

Participants in the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon are subject to a time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes, measured from the starting gun.

An additional time limit is set at 1 hour and 45 minutes for the 10 km section of the race (measured from the starting gun).

Participants in the New Balance High Five Race are subject to a time limit of 45 minutes, measured from the starting gun for their respective wave.


TIME MEASUREMENT

Time measurement is done using a chip placed in your race bib. Remember not to damage the chip protected by a sponge – be careful with your race bib.

The overall classification in the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon is based on net times (counted from crossing the starting line). An exception is the first 200 individuals crossing the finish line – they are classified based on official times (gross – from the starting gun), with the condition that if among the first 200 finishers there are not at least 10 men and 10 women, the number of 200 individuals will be increased to include them.

The overall classification in the New Balance High Five Race is based on net times (counted from crossing the starting line). An exception is the first 50 individuals crossing the finish line – they are classified based on official times (gross – from the starting gun), with the condition that if among the first 50 finishers there are not at least 3 men and 3 women, the number of 50 individuals will be increased to include them.

All additional classifications are based on net times (counted from crossing the starting line).


RACE BIB

The race bib must be placed on the front of the outfit. It cannot be covered or modified in any way. Violating these rules will result in disqualification. You must present your race bib when entering the starting area.

NOTE! Be sure to fill out the reverse side of the race bib with the necessary personal information!


ONLINE RESULTS

Results for the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon and New Balance High Five Race will be available online on the race website. After the race, each participant will also receive an SMS with their result.

Results will be available on the STS website – the link will be provided closer to the race.


MEDAL

The design of the medal will be published closer to the race.

In the registration form, you can purchase a medal engraving. The service can also be purchased on-site, and its cost is PLN 25. The Grawerbus tent will be located in the Race Village.


T-SHIRTS

The design of the T-shirts for both races will be published closer to the race.

If you wish to purchase a T-shirt, you should choose the size in the registration form. Changing the T-shirt size is possible by editing the registration form, but no later than March 14, 2024.

NOTE! The T-shirt supply in each size is limited, and we do not guarantee its availability throughout the registration period.


AWARDS

  • All participants who complete the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon and New Balance High Five Race will receive commemorative medals at the finish line.
  • In the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon, the winners of places I-III in the overall classifications for men and women, as well as the winners of places I-III in age group classifications, will receive commemorative trophies.
  • In the New Balance High Five Race, the winners of places I-III in the overall classifications for men and women will receive commemorative trophies.

WITHDRAWAL FROM THE RACE

The participation fee is non-refundable, non-transferable to another person, non-transferable to another race in the future, or exchangeable for a voucher.

At the same time, each participant, during registration (exclusively during registration – payment for the start), can order and pay for the additional option “option to withdraw and refund the registration fee.” Purchasing the option is not possible at a later date, as in the case of purchasing a T-shirt, sending the race package, or engraving.

The condition for using the purchased option is to declare the intention to withdraw from the race in an irrevocable manner by March 20, 2024 (in the case of picking up the race package at the Race Office) or by March 7, 2024 (in the case of using the race package delivery option).

The cost of the service is PLN 35 for the Half Marathon and PLN 25 for the New Balance High Five Race and is non-refundable (even in the case of withdrawing from the race).

The promotional price for the service for individuals registering during the closed registration for those who completed the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon (point V.4. and i. of the Regulations) was PLN 15.

Withdrawal must be made by logging into your runner’s account on the website https://rejestracja.maratonwarszawski.com/ and selecting the “I withdraw from the race” button in the YOUR RACES tab.


TIME LIMITS

Participants in the 18th Warsaw Half Marathon are subject to a time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes, measured from the starting gun. An additional time limit is set at 1 hour and 45 minutes for the 10 km section of the race (measured from the starting gun).

In the case of purchasing this option, the participant acquires the possibility of withdrawing from the race without stating a reason and receiving a 100% refund of the paid registration fee, including for selected additional options.

The condition for using the purchased option is to declare the intention to withdraw from the race in an irrevocable manner by March 20, 2024 (in the case of picking up the race package at the Race Office) or by March 7, 2024 (in the case of using the race package delivery option).

The cost of the service is PLN 35 for the Half Marathon and PLN 25 for the Five-Kilometer Run and is non-refundable (even in the case of withdrawing from the race).

The promotional price for the service for individuals registering during the closed registration for those who completed the 17th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon (point V.4. and i. of the Regulations) was PLN 15.

INVOICE

People who want to receive an invoice for the paid registration fee should select the appropriate option in the registration form and enter the required data needed to issue the document. The invoice will be generated automatically after the payment is credited and will be available for download from the participant’s profile by the 15th day of the month following the month in which the payment was made.

In accordance with tax regulations, due to making the payment before providing the service, a pro forma invoice covering the full amount of the paid fee will be issued. Therefore, the pro forma invoice is also the final invoice.

By selecting the Invoice option, the Participant agrees to receive/share invoices without the recipient’s signature in electronic form. This consent does not exclude the Organizer’s right to issue and send invoices in paper form.


GROUP REGISTRATIONS

We do not accept group registrations for the races – each participant must register individually by completing the registration form.

If you want to pay for a group of people with one transfer, each person in the group must register individually. Then you should request a collective Pro-Forma invoice. Instructions:

  1. During registration, athletes should not indicate a desire to receive an invoice or enter data into it. They should also not pay for their start.
  2. To receive a Pro-Forma invoice, you must send: invoice details, the number, and list of athletes (with registration numbers) along with information about the selected race package and race to ksiegowosc@maratonwarszawski.com.

Pro-Forma invoices are issued for the start of at least two participants (it is not possible to receive a Pro-Forma for the start of a single person). After crediting the payment made on the basis of the Pro-forma invoice, race numbers will be assigned to all athletes on the list.
