Registration has begun for the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon. The event will traditionally take place in the last weekend of September, with the starting point and finish line, just like last year, located in the heart of Warsaw – at Defilad Square. Once again, Nationale-Nederlanden is the title sponsor of the event. The uniqueness of this year’s edition is highlighted by the grand jubilee of Polish sports – the 100th anniversary of the first marathon in Poland. Sign up today, and in September, run and fulfill your dreams!

From history to the present

When on November 2, 1924, in Rembertów, eight daring individuals appeared eager to tackle the royal distance, no one suspected that 100 years later, the marathon would enjoy such popularity in Poland. In Warsaw itself, a tradition was born that moves entire generations. Uninterruptedly since 1979, the last weekend of September in the capital has been a true celebration of running and cheering. The Warsaw Marathon has become a part of the city’s landscape, bringing together fans, amateur athletes from all over Poland, their families, and unleashing emotions that are unforgettable.

This year’s Great Run will take place on September 29. We start at 9:00 from the Palace of Culture and Science. Registration for the run has just begun.

Nationale-Nederlanden as the title sponsor

Both of this year’s events organized by the “Maraton Warszawski” Foundation, just like last year, will take place under the orange umbrella of the Nationale-Nederlanden brand. This year, we will meet at the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon and the 46th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Marathon. The company has been actively involved in promoting health among Poles for years.

Our renewed partnership with the Foundation and serving as the title sponsor is not only a continuation but also an deepening of our mission to promote a healthy lifestyle. Each step in the marathon symbolizes our long-term commitment to health and supporting Poles in taking care of themselves, which is crucial to us. Remember that taking care of oneself is a marathon, not a sprint – long-term thinking is key here,” says Marta Maszewska-Danielewicz, Director of Marketing Communication and Brand at Nationale-NederlandenShe adds, “During previous editions of the half marathon and marathon, 406 people benefited from free preventive examinations in the mobile medbus. This year, we also plan activities that will contribute to building a healthy and active community.

2023 delighted organizers

We must admit that 2023 was extremely successful for the ‘Maraton Warszawski’ Foundation. We returned to pre-pandemic attendance, established and continued highly fruitful collaborations with many partners, including the title sponsor Nationale-Nederlanden, with whom we are pleased to continue our activities this year. We started and finished the marathon under the Palace of Culture and Science, enriching the event with a new competition format called TEAM UP! Europe. This year, we are not slowing down. Running has made a grand comeback: at this moment, we have over 6 thousand registered for the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon! In September, we want to surprise everyone by showing how the centenary of the marathon in Poland can bring runners together,” said Marek Tronina, President of the “Maraton Warszawski” Foundation.

#BiegamDobrze – Running for a good cause

As every year, the largest running charity event in Poland, #BiegamDobrze, will accompany the event. Participants can support a chosen foundation by registering through the #BiegamDobrzeroute and running with intention. After registering in the charity mode, a collection begins – simply train and encourage friends to support the “virtual piggy bank.” Upon reaching the minimum amount of 450 Polish zlotys by August 31, 2024, runners will receive a unique, orange race number as a gift, serving as a distinctive mark of Charitable Heroes. Running for a good cause makes the run lighter!

At Nationale-Nederlanden, we care not only about physical health but also about social well-being. Our support for the #BiegamDobrze initiative is the best proof of that – this year, we will once again contribute additional amounts to the collections that gather the largest sums. Thanks to this initiative, participants have the opportunity to support important charitable goals, enriching the experience of participating in races. Additionally, our employees enthusiastically volunteer during the half marathon and marathon, emphasizing our commitment to social initiatives. We are proud to be part of such important events that bring about real change and inspire action for others,” adds Marta Pokutycka-Mądrala, Press Spokesperson and Director of Corporate Communication at Nationale-Nederlanden.
