Presentation of the route for the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon and New Balance High Five Race

15-02-2024 14:02

We know the routes of the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon and the New Balance High Five Race. The event will also host the 33rd Polish Half Marathon Championships. We have ensured a sporty yet picturesque profile for all the races. After 10 years, the finish line of the half marathon returns to the surroundings of PGE Narodowy, which will be filled with thousands of runners that day.

This year, participants’ dreams of improving their personal bests and professionals’ aspirations of breaking the Polish record are closer to coming true. Spring starts in Warsaw on March 24th at 11:00.

The ‘Half’ for a Record

The 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon will be a fast race. We start from the Poniatowski Bridge near PGE Narodowy Stadium. The first kilometer leads across the Vistula River. Along Jerozolimskie Avenue, through De Gaulle and Dmowskiego roundabouts, we reach the heart of the capital: Marszałkowska, Królewska, and Krakowskie Przedmieście streets. Through the streets of the Old and New Towns, we head towards Żoliborz. The longest straight stretch leads along the Gdańskie Wybrzeże towards the Gdański Bridge, which we cross to the other side of the Vistula. We will finish on the surroundings of PGE Narodowy, running towards the stadium.

“We have always strived to focus on the sporting aspect of the half marathon, offering participants the opportunity to run on a fast and attractive course. Last year’s excellent results prove that you can run really fast in Warsaw – and it will be no different this year. We have minimized the number of uphill sections and turns, without forgetting, of course, about the tourist attractions. Both the participants of the Polish championships and the several thousand other runners will once again be able to welcome spring in a sporty way,” says Marek Tronina, President of the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation.

The ‘Five’ for Spring Warm-Up

As part of the event, we can also take part in the accompanying New Balance High Five Race. The spectacular route will lead across the Poniatowski Bridge and along Jerozolimskie Avenue to the De Gaulle roundabout, around the palm tree, and back across the Vistula towards PGE Narodowy. During the run, participants will enjoy the most beautiful scenery of the capital!

“The New Balance High Five Race is an attractive alternative for athletes who are not participating in the half marathon that day. It’s a perfect opportunity for racing and aiming for a personal best, as well as for street debut,” says Marek Tronina, President of the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation.
